Dr. Carlos Simon is a reproductive endocrinologist and physician-scientist with a distinguished international career in reproductive biology, particularly human embryo implantation.

His research has focused on molecular communication between the maternal endometrium and the embryo, as well as the role of endometrial stem cells in uterine regeneration.

He has published more than 550 peer-reviewed scientific articles, with over 57,000 citations and an h-index of 136 (Google Scholar, 2025). He has edited 21 books and supervised 42 doctoral theses. His contributions have been recognized with awards such as the King Jaime I Award (2011), the ASRM Distinguished Research Award (2016), the Lilly Foundation Biomedical Research Award (2021), the Translational Research Award from the Spanish Royal Academy of Medicine (2023), and the University–Society Award from the University of Valencia (2025).
